The first couple of days

Hopefully, we don't bore you with the details, but we are also using this a journal for ourselves.  After 41 hours of driving, we arrived late Friday night.  Valerie was kind enough to meet us and let us in, as we arrived a day ealier than expected.  Crashed that night,  We were all happy to sleep.  Here is picture of our view.

We are few hundred yards from main beach and pier.  San Clemente is a less touristy beach town and just south of Laguna Beach and Dana Point.  The parking you see is the public parking for beach.  Our parking is a secured garage at ground level of the pool.

First couple of days, we used the pool.  Headed down to Dana Point to check out the evening tide pools.  Pretty neat.  Saw lots of crabs, sea anenome (sp?), snails, hermit crabs.

Sunday, we walked up the street to the weekly farmers market and art fair.  Can't wait for the salsa guy to come back next sunday.  He has perfected the habanero salsa.
Took our first foray to the beach - waves were huge.  So much that the lifeguards were only letting locals with fins into the water.  Needless to say the kids still got knocked down without going that far out.
I had to hold the Soph so she didn't get carried out to sea.

After the waves "died down" a bit, he let them use the boogie boards if they didn't go too far out.
Kind of handy that there were 3 boogie boards in our parking space.

Then they buried Abby up to her head.
